UV-Cured Lacquer Finish
UV Lacquer is a surface coating that forms a hard, protective layer on top of the wood. It is cured instantly using ultraviolet light in our controlled factory environment, resulting in an exceptionally durable and smooth finish right after application. UV Lacquers are available in various sheen levels, from matte to gloss.
Pros:
- High Durability: Offers excellent resistance to scratches, scuffs, and spills from the outset. Forms a tough, non-porous protective layer.
- Low Maintenance: Requires simple cleaning routines (sweeping, vacuuming, damp mopping with a pH-neutral cleaner). No periodic re-application is needed for protection.
- Immediate Use: Cured instantly under UV light, the floor is ready for use almost immediately after the finishing process in our workshop.
- Water Resistance: Provides superior resistance to water and liquid spills compared to Hardwax Oil.
- Variety of Sheens: Available in different sheen levels (e.g., matte, satin, semi-gloss) to suit various design preferences.
Cons:
- Less Natural Feel: As a surface coating, it can feel slightly less natural to the touch compared to penetrating oils.
- Difficult to Spot Repair: Scratches or damage typically require more extensive refinishing, often involving sanding and re-coating a larger area or the entire floor.
- Can Show Scratches (Especially Glossy Finishes): While durable, deep scratches can sometimes be more noticeable, particularly on higher gloss finishes.
- Non-Breathable: Seals the wood surface completely.
Best Suited For: Busy households, families with pets or children, commercial spaces, kitchens, and areas requiring maximum durability and minimal maintenance. Ideal for those who prefer a smoother surface finish and ease of cleaning.
